Byron Bay weather is variable and because of intense sun and rain (Byron Bay climate and median temperatures) we are guaranteed a lush and green environment. It can be wet in the rainforest and you can see the rain falling on the hinterland hills of Mount Chincogan behind Byron Bay as you sit on Belongil or Tyagarah Beach. The sub-tropical climate supports a teaming and healthy diverse wild life in flora and fauna. Watch out for koala bears, possums, kangaroos and bush turkeys. If it’s raining too hard then spend the say at Byron Bay Dendy Cinema showing commercial and art-house movies. Or try the highflying trapeze at Byron Bay Entertainment Centre where the circus is always in town.

Surfing in Byron Bay has become famous – with surf for both the beginner and the experienced surfer. The surf break at The Pass, just at the end of Main Beach Byron Bay, has great breaks and is safe. The more adventurous can surf off the break to the right – nearer to Watego's Beach.
